The Bureau for Rights-Based Development (BRD) is a registered, Afghan non-profit, civil society organization, mandated to promote rights-based development for a strong, viable, and pluralistic society in Afghanistan.

An Afghanistan where everyone lives in peace with dignity and prosperity. The citizens have an active role in determining the values and governance of the country.

To create an environment in which men and women are able to improve their standards of living through equitable and sustainable use of resources.

Established in 2002, The Bureau for Rights Development (BRD) is an experienced rights-based development organization, with more than two decades experience implementing development cooperation programs in Afghanistan. As per its long-term engagement, BRD has gained valuable insight and knowledge of the local context, built up resilience, developed approaches and alternative delivery mechanisms to ensure the smooth implementation of our programs, despite the changing security and political environment. BRD has achieved tremendous result from its development work in Afghanistan and still kept its presence in the ground with full capacity and continued its engagement with CSOs and communities at the grassroot level, to ensure their meaningfull participation in the programs.
